CMR™ v1.0 — Connectivity Monetization Ratio — Axis Intelligence Research — Baseline July 2026
$45,500
CMR™ — ARR per Connected Institution — July 2026 — v1.0
Formula: CMR™ = Estimated ARR ÷ Financial Institutions Connected
Inputs: $546,000,000 (Sacra 2025 ARR estimate, Apr 2026) ÷ 12,000 institutions (Plaid / JPMC press release, Sep 2025)
CMR = $546M ÷ 12,000 = $45,500 per institution
Signal: The CMR measures how efficiently Plaid monetizes its institutional network. At $45,500 per connected institution, the ratio reflects a blended average across Plaid's product mix — the connectivity-only layer commands less; fraud, underwriting, and enterprise contracts pull it higher. As Plaid layers its Bank Intelligence suite and Plaid Check products onto institutions it already connects to, the CMR should rise without requiring further network expansion. That is precisely the IPO narrative: network density, not breadth.
Limitation: ARR is a third-party estimate (Sacra); institution count is a stated floor (“12,000+”). The actual CMR may be lower if the network exceeds this figure.
