Count full years

Subtract the years:
2020 – 2000 = 20 years
Add complete months
From December 5, 2020, move forward one month at a time without passing January 15, 2021.
One month takes you to January 5, 2021—any further and you’d overshoot today.
That’s 1 month.
Add the leftover days
You’re now at January 5, 2021.
Subtract: January 15, 2021 – January 5, 2021 = 10 days
Combine the results
20 years + 1 month + 10 days
So your age on January 15, 2021 is 20 years, 1 month, and 10 days.
