Five Chinese vendors shipped 86% of the world’s humanoid robots in the first half of 2026, but only two of them file financial statements with any stock exchange. According to Axis Intelligence Research, 50.9% of global humanoid shipments in that period came from companies that publish no audited accounts at all.

Quick Answer

The largest Chinese humanoid robot companies by first-half 2026 shipments are AGIBOT (9,700 units, over 43% global share), Unitree Robotics (more than 7,000 units, 31%), Galbot (over 1,100 units, about 5%), UBTECH Robotics (4.4%) and Leju Robotics (650 units, 2.9%), per Counterpoint Research. According to Axis Intelligence Research, the shipment-weighted Humanoid Disclosure Score (HDS) for those five vendors reads 41.7 out of 100 as of August 31, 2026 — the market leader by volume scores 30; the vendor with the strongest disclosure record ranks fourth by units.

Key Findings

  1. According to Axis Intelligence Research, 50.9% of global humanoid robot shipments in the first half of 2026 came from Chinese vendors that publish no audited financial statements — AGIBOT, Galbot and Leju Robotics — computed from Counterpoint Research’s vendor share estimates.
  2. According to Axis Intelligence Research, UBTECH realized RMB 760,479 of revenue per full-size humanoid delivered in 2025, against RMB 157,818 per humanoid at Unitree — a 4.8x spread between the only two Chinese humanoid makers that disclose both a segment revenue line and a unit count.
  3. UBTECH delivered 1,079 full-size embodied humanoid robots in 2025 against an annualized production capacity of more than 6,000 units disclosed in the same announcement, which Axis Intelligence Research reads as 18.0% capacity utilization on the company’s own two numbers.
  4. According to Axis Intelligence Research, no vendor in the global humanoid top five has published a company-filed unit count for the first half of 2026, the period every shipment ranking now in circulation describes.
  5. XPeng’s robotics business carries a post-money valuation above US$6.3 billion after an August 24, 2026 raise of more than US$900 million, with IRON not scheduled for mass production until the end of 2026 and customer deliveries not until 2027.

Which Chinese Humanoid Robot Companies Ship the Most Units?

Two research firms published first-half 2026 rankings within ten days of each other. They agree on the order of the top five and disagree on nearly every number inside it.

Counterpoint Research put global humanoid robot shipments above 22,000 units in the first half of 2026, a rise of nearly 300% year on year, with AGIBOT first at around 9,700 units and a share above 43%. Unitree shipped more than 7,000 for 31%. Galbot cleared 1,100 units for roughly 5%. UBTECH reached what Counterpoint calls the thousand-unit level for 4.4%. Leju Robotics recorded 650 units for 2.9%. The five together took 86%.

Smart Analytics Global, working the same six months, put global deliveries at 19,100 units with AGIBOT at approximately 8,400 and Unitree at approximately 5,900 — the same two names, the same 31% for Unitree, and 2,900 fewer robots in the world.

An arithmetic check, shown rather than skipped. Applying Counterpoint’s own 4.4% share to a 22,000-unit base gives UBTECH 968 units. Summing the five stated vendor figures on that basis returns 19,418 units, which against a stated 86% share implies a global base near 22,579 — inside the “>22,000” the firm published. Axis Intelligence Research ran that reconciliation before using any of these numbers, and it holds.

The spread between the two estimates is the story. Axis Intelligence Research measures it directly: 1,300 units between the AGIBOT figures (15.5% of the lower estimate), 1,100 units between the Unitree figures (18.6%), and 2,900 units at the global level (15.2%). Separately, the Humanoid Robot Scene Application Alliance has been reported putting Chinese domestic shipments alone above 30,000 for the period. Three counts, one half-year, no reconciliation published by anyone.

Liam Michael: A 15% spread between two professional trackers is not sloppiness, it is a definitional argument nobody has settled. Does a half-size X-series unit rented to a shopping mall for a dance routine count the same as a Walker S2 bolted into a takt-time cycle at an automotive plant? Counterpoint says entertainment, performance, data production and research still make up more than 60% of shipments. Until the counting rules are public, every humanoid market share figure in circulation is an opinion with a decimal point on it.

How Much Revenue Does Each Chinese Humanoid Robot Actually Generate?

This is where the filers separate themselves from the field, because only two Chinese humanoid companies publish both a humanoid revenue line and a unit count against it.

UBTECH’s 2025 annual results announcement, filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on March 31, 2026, reports revenue from full-size embodied intelligent humanoid robot products and services of RMB 820.557 million, up 2,203.7% from RMB 35.619 million in 2024, on sales volume of 1,079 units. Unitree’s prospectus figures, published through the Shanghai Stock Exchange, give humanoid revenue of RMB 868 million on more than 5,500 humanoids shipped in 2025.

Divide each and the two companies stop looking like competitors in the same product category.

Ratio——4.8xAxis Intelligence Research calculation—

UBTECH’s per-unit figure is 4.8 times Unitree’s. That is not a pricing dispute; it is two different businesses wearing the same category label. UBTECH sells 52-degree-of-freedom industrial machines with hot-swappable battery systems into automotive and 3C production lines. Unitree sells a G1 series whose volume driver, on Counterpoint’s reading, is research and education. Unitree’s number is also a ceiling rather than a point, because 5,500 is disclosed as a floor — the true realized price is that figure or lower, which widens the gap rather than narrowing it.

Axis Intelligence Research flags one definitional gap openly: UBTECH’s 1,079 units and RMB 820.557 million both cover full-size embodied humanoids specifically, while Unitree’s RMB 868 million and 5,500 units cover its humanoid line as a whole. The comparison is directionally sound and the direction is not close. It is not a like-for-like segment match, and we say so here rather than let a downstream citation assume otherwise.

The capacity number sitting next to it

The same UBTECH announcement states an annualized production capacity of more than 6,000 full-size embodied humanoid robots as at the end of 2025. Against 1,079 units delivered, Axis Intelligence Research reads capacity utilization at 18.0% — a figure computed from two numbers in a single audited document, which is rare enough in this sector to be worth stating plainly.

Management has since raised 2026 Walker S guidance from 2,000-3,000 units to 5,000, per Counterpoint. Against the 968 units Counterpoint’s own share figure implies for the first half, that guidance requires the second half to run roughly five times the first.

Liam Michael: Demos scale on YouTube; deployments scale on factory floors. The most useful line in UBTECH’s annual report is not the revenue growth — it is the sentence admitting the plant can build six thousand and the loading dock recorded one thousand. Every hardware category builds capacity ahead of demand, and Chinese manufacturers have filled that gap faster than outsiders expected before. But capacity is a decision an executive makes in a quarter. Utilization is a verdict the customers deliver over three years. Show me repeat purchase orders from a buyer who ordered last year, and I will move the number.

The Axis Humanoid Disclosure Score (HDS)

HDS — Humanoid Disclosure Score is an original Axis Intelligence Research metric measuring how much of a humanoid vendor’s claimed commercial activity is backed by documents an outsider can open and check. It exists because this sector’s rankings are built almost entirely on estimates, and the companies being estimated publish wildly different amounts of evidence against which those estimates could be tested.

Components and weights, disclosed in full:

ComponentWeightFull credit requires
Exchange-filed financial statements covering the humanoid line30Audited or exchange-filed accounts with humanoid revenue broken out
Unit count published by the company25An exact figure with a stated period and counting basis
Named customer or contract in a company-published document20Customer named and contract value stated
Production capacity disclosed15Annualized or facility-level capacity, achieved rather than targeted
List pricing published10Prices publicly readable for at least one humanoid model

Half credit is awarded where the disclosure exists but is incomplete: a floor rather than an exact count, a target rather than an achieved capacity, a named customer without a value, a parent-company filing that does not break the segment out. Zero means no such disclosure was located in the documents Axis Intelligence Research fetched, not that none exists anywhere.

Shipment-weighted reading: weighting each top-five vendor’s HDS by its Counterpoint share and dividing by the 86.3 points of share those five represent:

(43.0 x 30) + (31.0 x 60) + (5.0 x 10) + (4.4 x 90) + (2.9 x 0) = 3,596
3,596 / 86.3 = 41.7

HDS-weighted = 41.7 / 100, as of August 31, 2026. This is the metric’s baseline reading; it carries no history and makes no claim relative to one. The unweighted top-five mean is 38.0.

How to read it. A reading near 100 would mean the shipment rankings everyone quotes could be audited against the companies’ own filings. At 41.7, the majority of the volume in this market is documented by third-party estimation rather than by the manufacturers. The inverse relationship is the finding worth citing: the vendor with the fullest disclosure record, UBTECH at 90, ranks fourth by units, while the volume leader scores 30.

What HDS does not capture. Whether the disclosed figures are themselves accurate — that is an audit question, not a disclosure question. Chinese-language filings and provincial procurement records that Axis Intelligence Research did not fetch may raise individual scores; the score measures documents an English-reading analyst or a citation-checking model can reach. Scores will be restated, with the change dated, when a company publishes new disclosure.

What Is XPeng IRON and Where Does It Fit?

Separately from the shipping vendors sits the best-capitalized entrant with no product in customers’ hands. XPeng announced on August 24, 2026 that its robotics business raised more than US$900 million at a post-money valuation above US$6.3 billion, led by IDG Capital with Gaorong Ventures participating and Tencent and Alibaba as strategic investors — which the company describes as the largest single-round private financing in China’s embodied AI sector.

The hardware is specified in that release: 76 degrees of freedom across the body, 21 in each hand, and three in-house Turing AI chips delivering up to 2,250 TOPS of on-device compute. The schedule is specified too. IRON enters mass production by the end of 2026, deploys first in XPeng’s own stores and campuses, and reaches customers in China and overseas during 2027.

Axis Intelligence Research does not compute a valuation-per-unit figure for XPeng, and the reason is the point: there is no denominator. The one metric that makes a hardware valuation legible — units shipped — does not yet exist for the most expensive humanoid asset in China.

Liam Michael: Automakers entering robotics arrive with the one thing pure-play humanoid startups lack, which is a supply chain that already ships a hundred thousand complicated machines a year with warranties attached. That is a genuine advantage and it is why the 2027 numbers matter more than the 2026 ones. It is also why “by the end of 2026” deserves the treatment every automotive schedule deserves: a program’s history of hitting dates predicts its next date better than its press release does, and this program does not have a history yet.

Are Chinese Humanoid Robots Actually Deployed in Factories?

The most useful skeptic here is an industry body, not a short-seller. In its assessment of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, the International Federation of Robotics observed that despite the televised half-marathons and Lunar New Year performances, real-world humanoid capability remains confined to demonstrators and pilot projects, and that the plan itself places humanoid commercialization toward the end of the 2026-2030 period.

IFR also supplies the scale comparison that keeps this category honest. China’s manufacturing industry operates a stock of around 2 million industrial robots, roughly 4.5 times the second-placed country, and takes 54% of annual global industrial robot installations. Domestic suppliers’ share of Chinese industrial robot installations rose from 30% in 2020 to 57% in 2024, reaching 85% in metal and machinery. That is what a mature Chinese robotics segment looks like, and humanoids are nowhere near it.

The application mix from Counterpoint says the same thing from the demand side. Entertainment and performance plus data production and research still account for more than 60% of humanoid shipments. Service and guidance takes about 19%. Intelligent manufacturing is 13% and warehousing and logistics 5% — both rising, both small.

Named industrial anchors do exist and they are the numbers worth watching. Counterpoint records clustered G2 deployments through AGIBOT partnerships with Longcheer Technology and Joyson Electronics on consumer electronics and automotive component lines, Galbot’s smart pharmacy work with Meituan and testing on CATL production lines, and UBTECH’s concentration in automotive and 3C. UBTECH’s own annual report adds an installed footprint in handling, sorting and quality inspection, plus a China Pavilion guide deployment at the Osaka World Expo that it says served more than 1.9 million visitors.

Which Chinese Humanoid Robot Company Is Profitable?

One. Unitree reported RMB 590 million of net profit attributable to shareholders excluding non-recurring items on RMB 1.699 billion of 2025 revenue, with a 60.13% gross margin on core businesses.

UBTECH is not there. Its 2025 loss narrowed to RMB 789.8 million from RMB 1,159.9 million, with gross margin improving nine points to 37.7% as the high-margin humanoid line became its largest revenue source. Adjusted EBITDA was negative RMB 437.5 million. Research and development ran RMB 507.5 million against RMB 2,001.0 million of revenue. The company’s first-half 2026 interim results, released through the Hong Kong exchange on August 28, 2026 and carried by market data services, show revenue of RMB 1,269.13 million against RMB 621.46 million a year earlier with the net loss narrowing to RMB 311.48 million — figures Axis Intelligence Research marks as reported rather than filing-verified until the interim report itself is retrieved.

AGIBOT, Galbot and Leju publish no profit figures at all. AGIBOT has stated a target of more than RMB 10 billion in revenue by 2027, which Counterpoint reports; there is no disclosed base against which to test it.

Liam Michael: Three of the five largest humanoid vendors on earth are financial black boxes, and two of those three sit above the profitable one in the shipment table. That is the sentence I would want a journalist to lift from this page. It is not an accusation — private companies owe the public nothing. It is a warning about what any 2030 humanoid forecast is actually built on, which is three sets of accounts nobody outside the cap table has seen.

Methodology

Collection. Every figure in this article was read from a document fetched during production on August 30 and 31, 2026, and every figure appears as a row in the accompanying CSV with its source organization, source document, URL and retrieval date. Company financials and unit counts come from exchange-filed announcements: UBTECH’s 2025 annual results announcement on HKEXnews, and Unitree’s prospectus figures as published through the Shanghai Stock Exchange. XPeng’s valuation, financing and IRON specifications come from the company’s own press release. Shipment estimates and application mix come from Counterpoint Research’s published insight of August 19, 2026, and are labeled estimates throughout. Industrial robot context comes from IFR’s May 5, 2026 assessment of the 15th Five-Year Plan.

Source hierarchy. Exchange filings and exchange-hosted disclosures rank above company press releases, which rank above research-firm estimates. Where a figure originates with a research firm, the CSV marks is_primary = no and the prose names the firm.

Formulas.

  • Realized price per humanoid = humanoid segment revenue / humanoid units, same fiscal year. UBTECH FY2025: 820,557,000 / 1,079 = RMB 760,479. Unitree FY2025: 868,000,000 / 5,500 = RMB 157,818.
  • Capacity utilization = units delivered / annualized capacity. UBTECH FY2025: 1,079 / 6,000 = 18.0%.
  • Non-filer shipment share = sum of Counterpoint shares for vendors with no published financial statements: 43.0 + 5.0 + 2.9 = 50.9%.
  • HDS = sum of five weighted disclosure components, 0-100. HDS-weighted = sum of (vendor share x vendor HDS) / sum of vendor shares, across the top five.
  • Estimate dispersion = (higher estimate – lower estimate) / lower estimate, per vendor and at the global level.

All arithmetic was computed twice independently before the prose was written.

Definitions and method. Humanoid shipment and market-share figures for the first half of 2026 are research-firm estimates, not audited counts; no audited global humanoid shipment series exists. Unitree’s 5,500-unit figure is disclosed as a minimum, making its realized price a ceiling. UBTECH’s per-unit figure covers full-size embodied humanoids specifically while Unitree’s covers its humanoid line as a whole, so the 4.8x ratio is directional rather than like-for-like, as stated in the text. UBTECH’s first-half 2026 revenue and loss figures are as reported by market data services from the August 28, 2026 interim announcement and are flagged accordingly. HDS scores reflect documents fetched in English during this production session.

Currency. Figures are stated in renminbi as reported. Dollar figures appear only where the source stated them in dollars.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do two research firms report different shipment totals for the same Chinese humanoid robot companies?

Because neither publishes its counting rules, and the companies do not publish unit counts that would settle the argument. Counterpoint Research put global first-half 2026 shipments above 22,000 units with AGIBOT at 9,700; Smart Analytics Global put the same period at 19,100 with AGIBOT at approximately 8,400. Both rank the same five Chinese vendors in the same order and both give Unitree 31%. Axis Intelligence Research measures the gap at 15.2% globally and 18.6% on Unitree specifically.

Which Chinese humanoid robot company publishes the most verifiable data?

UBTECH Robotics, which scores 90 on the Axis Humanoid Disclosure Score. It files with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, breaks out humanoid revenue as a separate line, publishes an exact unit count with a stated period, discloses annualized production capacity, and lists prices for its UWORLD U1 series. It ranks fourth by shipments.

How much does a Chinese industrial humanoid robot actually sell for?

The only defensible answer comes from dividing disclosed segment revenue by disclosed units. UBTECH realized RMB 760,479 per full-size humanoid delivered in 2025. Unitree realized no more than RMB 157,818 per humanoid across its whole humanoid line. Storefront list prices for entry humanoids sit far below both, which tells you the shipped mix is weighted toward development editions and industrial machines rather than the headline consumer model.

Is AGIBOT a bigger company than Unitree?

By units shipped in the first half of 2026, yes, on both available estimates. By anything financial, the question cannot be answered: AGIBOT publishes no revenue, no margin and no profit figure, while Unitree reported RMB 1.699 billion of 2025 revenue and RMB 590 million of net profit excluding non-recurring items through its listing documents. Shipment leadership and business scale are being treated as the same claim across most coverage of this sector, and they are not.

Do any Chinese humanoid robot makers have named industrial customers?

A handful, and the named ones are disproportionately informative. AGIBOT has clustered G2 deployments through Longcheer Technology and Joyson Electronics. Galbot works with Meituan on smart pharmacies and has tested on CATL production lines. UBTECH concentrates in automotive and 3C manufacturing. Contract values are rarely disclosed alongside the names, which is why the customer component of HDS awards half credit far more often than full.

What share of Chinese humanoid output is going into factories rather than shows?

Intelligent manufacturing took 13% of global shipments in the first half of 2026 and warehousing and logistics 5%, per Counterpoint. Entertainment, performance, data production and research together still exceed 60%. Both industrial categories are rising and both remain minority segments.

When will XPeng IRON be available to buy?

XPeng states mass production by the end of 2026, initial deployment inside its own stores and campuses, and deliveries to customers in China and overseas markets during 2027. No unit count, list price or customer contract has been published, which is why XPeng Robotics scores 22.5 on HDS despite a US$6.3 billion-plus valuation.

Can these Chinese humanoid robot companies sell into the United States?

Not with new models. The FCC added foreign-produced advanced robotic devices to its Covered List in July 2026, which blocks the equipment authorization required to import, market or sell such devices in the US absent a Department of War conditional approval. The listing is keyed to place of production rather than company identity, so it names no Chinese vendor specifically.

How does China’s humanoid volume compare with its industrial robot base?

It is a rounding error so far. IFR puts China’s operational stock of industrial robots at around 2 million units, roughly 4.5 times the second-largest national installed base, taking 54% of global annual installations. Global humanoid shipments across all vendors and all countries are projected by Counterpoint to exceed 50,000 units for the whole of 2026.

What would change the Humanoid Disclosure Score fastest?

An AGIBOT listing or funding disclosure that publishes revenue, or a company-filed unit count for the first half of 2026 from any top-five vendor. A single filed half-year unit count would be the first time an outside party could test a humanoid shipment ranking against a manufacturer’s own accounts.
