Axis Intelligence Research
Axis Intelligence Research is the data and analysis division of Axis Intelligence. We publish sourced, dated, verifiable reference data on the technology industry — 1200+ statistics reports across 14 categories, live trackers updated weekly, proprietary indices, and open datasets.
The division’s mandate is durable reference material: research that can be verified, cited, and built upon. Every figure is traced to a named primary source, every method is disclosed, and every dataset is available for download.
What we publish
Statistics reports. Sourced, dated overviews of a market or topic — 30 to 100+ data points each, organized by the questions people actually ask, with analyst interpretation between the tables. Browse by category: AI · Cybersecurity · Digital Finance · Consumer Tech · EV · Tech Energy · Robotics · SaaS & Enterprise · Digital Health · Smart Home & IoT · Streaming, Social & Gaming · Careers & Work · Industrial Tech · Marketing
Live trackers. Living datasets with permanent URLs, updated on a fixed schedule, every entry linked to its primary source: the AI Model Vulnerability Tracker, AI Copyright Lawsuits Tracker, EU AI Act Compliance Tracker, and LLM Production Incident Tracker — with additional trackers launching through 2026.
Proprietary indices. Recurring metrics we build and maintain, with published formulas and versioned methodology: the Electric Vehicle Index and the SIEM Scoring Matrix, with new indices launching each quarter.
Original research. Surveys and primary studies we field ourselves, published with full methodology, sample details, limitations, and the underlying dataset.
Intelligence tools. Interactive tools built on our data, starting with the EU AI Act Compliance Checker.
How we source
Our source hierarchy, in descending order of preference: government data (BLS, Census, FTC, SEC, FCC, DOE, FBI IC3, CISA, NIST, HHS OCR, Eurostat, ONS and equivalents) · academic and institute research (university centers, NIST, NREL, RAND, Pew, OECD, WHO) · industry research firms (IDC, Gartner, Forrester, BloombergNEF, Counterpoint, Newzoo, eMarketer, Nielsen) · vendor research with public methodology (Verizon DBIR, IBM Cost of a Data Breach, Microsoft Digital Defense, Cloudflare Radar, Chainalysis) · reputable trade press, only when it cites a primary source we can reference.
Axis Intelligence Research does not source from secondary aggregators. A figure that cannot be traced to a primary source is not published.
How we verify
Five steps, every figure: primary source identified · data-collection date confirmed (often earlier than publication year) · methodology read — no survey figure without sample context, no projection without its assumptions · sanity-checked against adjacent research · cited with a direct link. Where a widely circulated figure carries a wrong attribution, we trace it to its origin and document the correction.
When we run our own research, we hold it to the same skepticism: sample sizes, selection criteria, collection windows, and limitations are in the article, not in fine print — and the dataset ships under CC BY 4.0 wherever privacy and legal constraints allow.
Methodology limitations
Tech industry data is unevenly available, and where coverage is thin we say so. Vendor research is self-interested — IBM sells security products; the data is still useful, the context matters. Surveys carry self-selection and recall bias. Modeled projections are not measurements. Research on fast-moving industries does not offer certainty; it offers evidence, with its limitations stated. We consider that distinction part of the methodology.
Citing and embedding our work
Every report carries a citation block in APA, MLA, and Chicago with a copy button. Attribution: Axis Intelligence Research, with a link where your format allows. Datasets are CC BY 4.0 — republish, chart, and build on them with attribution. Trackers and selected charts carry an Embed button generating an iframe that stays current as the data updates.

Updates and corrections
Every article carries a visible “Last updated” date and is reviewed at least quarterly; each goes through a full structural refresh annually. Errors reported to [email protected] are acknowledged within two business days and, once verified, corrected within 24 hours — visibly, per our Editorial Policy. We never silently edit a wrong number.
Commissioned research
The methodology on this page is available for hire — targeted benchmarks, full market studies, co-branded reports, and data licensing. Commissioned work never influences published findings; that separation is contractual. Research services →
